About the Author


Andrea Carter is an Equity, Diversity & Inclusion educator and Learning & Development consultant who uses the neuroscience of belonging to support human capital, leadership, and inclusion intelligence.

She is the CEO & Founder of Andrea Carter Consulting & Building Better Organizations. Andrea brings over 18 years of research and practical application to her training, public speaking, and proven methods.

Certified in both quantitative and qualitative data science technology, theory, and applications, she uses data-driven assessments, research, and training to support leaders, and their teams, to create a climate of belonging so they can produce great work despite high-pressure situations and imperfect conditions.

Andrea has completed a neuroscience certification with HarvardX and is currently a Masters of Industrial & Organizational Psychology candidate, with a concentration in Human Resource Management, and a specialty in Social Justice. Andrea’s thesis is actively investigating Belonging within the mining industry. She is running the largest Canadian study on Belonging-First, with 13 TSX listed mining companies and a total of 3,508 participants. The content provided in this course reflects over 8 years of research, now being academically validated through the rigor of the graduate program.

Andrea is a TedX Speaker and has been a featured expert guest panelist and speaker on the Empire Club of Canada. She is often invited to organizations to be a keynote speaker and trainer for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Most recently Andrea was nominated by her peers and two professors to serve on the Adler University Anti-Racism & Inclusion Board of Directors. The position holds only three students and requires a rigorous vetting process. Her role on the board is to guide and reaffirm the Anti-Racism & Inclusion work to internal and external stakeholders, oversee the coming year’s work in this area, ensure accountability for the Board and administration, and establish a new governance and communication channel for the Board and Adler community.
